Lost and Found in Jesus
Nicholas J. Connolly Pastor of First and Grace United Methodist Churches
The Sunday after Christmas December 27, 2009
The names of the Sundays are taken from The Bible Through the Seasons: A Three-Year Journey with the Bible
Scripture: Luke 2:41-52

Allow the trusting, longing gaze of "Christ at Five" of C. Bosseron Chambers to quicken a tender connection of your soul to God. Sense the intimations of what is to come as Jesus plays with some nails in Joseph's shop, suspended in wonder as two fall in the form of a cross.
The story of "The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple" furthers the wonder of the boy Jesus and his preparation for what is to come. He, who is the New Temple, is found in the old one, probing the teachers, seeking to produce wonder at what lies beyond the confines of the Law.
Do you sometimes feel lost and need to be found at deeper levels of your spiritual life? Today's message will hopefully open yourself to wonder and trust in God, and an inward experience of being found in the Body of Christ.
