Scripture: John 6:51-58

Religious leaders are shocked by the implications of eating Jesus' flesh and blood. For us, "No problem: Jesus is speaking about Holy Communion." Yet there can be a problem for us if we see Holy Communion as only the occasional ritural completing of doing what Jesus' enjoined upon us, "Do this in memory of Me." The purpose of Holy Communion is for us to be totally tranformed into the sacred food we eat: the body of Christ dwelling within us.
